Positive thoughts. Positive outcomes. A better world

This year has been the year of realization and change for me. My thoughts are so different now. My way of seeing people and other life has become more positive and hopeful.

How do I know that I have changed? I have kept a journal since I was 17. Sometimes I wrote in it every day for months, other times, like now, I write it in ever so often. It has kept record of my relationships, moves, travels, pain, happiness, and most importantly my progress in the physical and spiritual world. I read my past entries from when I was 19 and even at 20 and WOW. Sometimes I can't even believe I would write some things that are in there. I ask myself, "who is this person?" I can tell in my past writing that there was sometimes anger, jealousy, cravings for material things that only caused me unhappiness in the end.

Here are three books that I PROMISE you will help you in your life.
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, How to Expand Love and The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama

I am SO THANKFUL that 'life' has allowed my mind to open up and the bad energies from inside of me to be released. I feel that I have been given a second chance in life..... even though I was physically in perfect health before. My mind was polluted; therefore, my actions were too.

I began to read these books after I began my own spiritual journey. I guess my energy brought these books to me so I could make sense of what I was experiencing in my own life.

From How to Expand Love:
"The blueprint for our actions can be found within the mind. Self-defeating attitudes arise not of their own accord but out of ignorance. Success, too, is found within ourselves. Out of self-discipline, self-awareness, and clear realization of the defects of anger and the positive effects of kindness will come peace."

"Love, compassion and concern for others are real sources of happiness. With these in abundance, you will not be disturbed by even the most uncomfortable circumstances. If you nurse hatred, however, you will not be happy even in the lap of luxury."

I will tell you guys more about the other two books later. My baby nephew just woke up and i'm babysitting!

If you would like to borrow any of these books from me just let me know and I'll be happy to share them with you.

There is no separation. You and Mother. Us and Earth. Life is non duality. We are all one. When one is harmed, all are harmed. When earth is healed, all are healed.

The title of this blog comes from a comment left by a user on Youtube and I completely agree with it.

I've always felt a deep connection to all forms of life which is my drive towards learning about all plants and organisms on earth. Sounds like a long shot but this is a goal that will carry me towards a life time of learning and understanding of our planet.

It boggles my mind how little people know about the living environment that surrounds them. How separated people have become. How detached from their surroundings many people are.

How can we be so blind and uncaring towards THE LIFE THAT GIVES US LIFE? For those of you who are aware, kudos!

Today I was outside for most of the day collecting wild plant ingredients that I was going to make a meal of for a blog post. When I came home, my friend shared this video with me. Coincidence.

Here's the link to the vid
She's Alive... Beautiful... Finite... Hurting... Worth Dying for

I tried to embed the video but I don't know how to do that yet on here! can anyone help?

I hope that we can all learn from this video :)

PRObody. PRObiotics.

From my effort of incorporating new, beneficial, items into my daily diet i've came across these two 'ingredients'....

Probiotics and Flax Oil

Probiotics
Probiotics restores or enhances the bacteria in your gut flora.  I've heard a lot of good things about probiotics and how beneficial it is for your digestive system. This container of it contains 'BIOACTIVE MULTI-STRAIN CULTURES." Sounds fancy. Here's a little paragraph about the benefits of these bacteria that live inside you and their relationship to your body.

"Bacteria that live in the intestinal tract play an important role in human health. There are at least 30 beneficial species that inhabit the intestine, living mainly in the colon, the lower region of intestine. These anaerobic bacteria plus other microbes comprise the gut flora. It has been estimated that the number of microorganisms living in the intestine is 10X greater than the number of cells in the entire human body; bacteria make up about 60% of the volume of feces. Most of the bacteria in the gut flora are beneficial, and even necessary for optimal health. They digest parts of food that the intestine cannot, such as fiber and certain carbohydrates. The main end product of this bacterial digestion is small fatty acids which then can be absorbed as nutrients. Bacteria also produce some essential vitamins, such as vitamin K, and aid the intestine in absorbing calcium and other minerals. Furthermore, the large number of beneficial bacteria prevent pathogenic species from growing in the intestine. One unfortunate side effect of some antibiotics is that they alter the composition of the gut flora, often killing large numbers of the beneficial species. If this happens, intestinal upset and diarrhea may result until the natural balance of bacteria is restored."

Flax Oil

Flax Oil is beneficial to your skin, hair, and nails. There's also evidence that it may help to reduces chances of stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. OOOOOOHHH. Sounds good huh?

This is is packed with Omega-3 essential fatty acids (good fats essential for brain and nerve funtion), lignans (which have antioxidant qualities), and fiber (both soluble and insoluble types). Flax contains up to 800x more lignans than any other plant food.

more info about flax oil is available here: http://www.essortment.com/flax-seed-oil-benefits-41778.html

So how do I incorporate this into my diet?
I just add a table spoon of probiotics into my blended protein shakes and I add a table spoon of flax oil into my vegetable drinks (jar of goodness) :)
You can also put flax oil onto a salad with your normal dressing.
Once mixed in, these two ingredients are tasteless.

Vegan Heatless Oatmeal....MMMmmmm

I created this by accident one day while making a carb boosted protein drink before heading to the gym. Now, I've tweaked it to be a perfect, quick and easy breakfast.

Heres what you're in for....

The ingredients

Takes less than 5 minutes to make!!!! GASP!

More specifically:

1.5 cups of oatmeal
1 cup of almond milk
3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 banana
some blueberries

1.)In a blender, put in the oatmeal, almond milk, cinnamon and banana (everything except the blueberries). 2.) Blend for two minutes on high and you will see the mixture thicken up in the blender. 3.) Then after two minutes, *add the blueberries and blend for another 15 seconds.

Then you're done!

*adding the blueberries last and blending for only 15 seconds will leave a cool blend of blueberries still visible in the oatmeal. Check it out in the picture

Variations??

Of course.
If you want it thicker then just let it sit and the oats will absorb more liquid.
add any fruits you think will mix well with it. Any berries, pumpkin pie mix,  or sweet potatoes will taste great with the oatmeal.
Add protein powder!!! But make sure you add more liquid to the recipe to compensate
don't like almond milk? use soy milk, water, or even milk (but then it won't be vegan!)

Hope you guys like it.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or advice for me then feel free to email me!

Better than coffee! and did I mention how tasty it is????
Here's what goes in it

I also put a whole banana in it....forgot to put it in the picture

Why This Blog?

To show you that you can too.

I've just graduated from college, so I am now free to make the most of my life. I am FREE to do the things I have always imagined myself doing, to meet people from all walks of life, and to give back to the people.

My Inspiration:

"The truly altruistic person is moved by the suffering of each and every sentient being and wishes to join them with happiness and its causes and to free them from suffering and its causes"
